Itinerary

Day 1 : Luang Prabang half day tour (-/-/-)

Enjoy an afternoon walking tour visiting Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Visoun, the Melon Stupa and Wat Aham before climbing Mount Phousi to catch the radiant sunset. The tour will conclude at the daily night market where you can shop for local handicrafts on display.

Day 2 : Luang Prabang (B/L/-)

Take a one-hour drive this morning through dense verdant forests, stopping first at a colorful ethnic Hmong Village to learn about one of the 49 recognized ethnic groups in the area. See how the villagers go about their daily life and tend to their livestock and crops before continuing on by car to the magical Kuang Si Waterfalls.

Luscious and flowing, the ethereal Kuang Si Waterfalls found in the middle of a forest are one of nature’s greatest gifts to mankind. Have a swim in the dreamy turquoise pools below the falls or enjoy a walk through the forest before enjoying a picnic lunch.  On the return trip to Luang Prabang, stop at Tat Kuang Si Bear Rescue Center to see how one woman has rescued 220 bears over the years abused by poachers milking their gall-bladders for bile to use in traditional medicine. Of the 220 rescued across Southeast Asia, 50 are living and playing in this Luang Prabang center.

Day 3 : Luang Prabang - departure (B/-/-)

Rise before the sun and take part in the iconic tradition of Luang Prabang, offering alms to a long line of monks in dusky saffron robes at Ban Vat Sean. The tradition of giving alms stems back to ancient times, with the idea to give without expecting anything in return. Typical alms givings are usually of simple food such as rice or fruit so that the monks can have their one meal per day.

Once the ceremony finishes, enjoy a delicious traditional breakfast before visiting the Royal Palace, nowadays a museum with a wonderful collection of crown jewels, antique cars, royal objects and weapons, artwork and more.

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
