Day 1 : Welcome to Bangkok

Sawasdee and welcome to the land of smiles. Your tour begins in Bangkok, the center of Thailand and known worldwide for its abundance of sensational foods, glamorous shopping malls, historic sights and sizzling nightlife.

Upon arrival to the airport, our representative will take you to the Anantara Sathorn for check-in and refreshment.

Enjoy the day at leisure until an evening dinner cruise along the Chao Pyra River with the Shangri-La’s Horizon Cruise. Sample delicious Thai cuisine while watching the illuminated City of Angels pass you by as you cruise the river of kings over a 2-hour period.

Day 2 : Explore the cultural and historical attractions of Bangkok

Explore Bangkok’s famed cultural and historical attractions with a private tour through the city utilizing the iconic tuk-tuk, long tail boat, and by foot. Visit the Phra Nakorn area of Rattanakosin Island along the Bangkok Noi and Bang Luang Canals. Wander through Bangkok’s impressive golden Grand Palace before stopping at Wat Pho to see the immense reclining Buddha. Shop for exotic flowers in the local markets before perusing the finest Thai art collections in the National Museum.

Take the rest of the day for yourselves to experience Bangkok independently.

Day 3 : Practice your bartering skills when shopping in Damnoen Saduak's floating market

After breakfast, journey 1.5 hours south to Damnoen Saduak, a town famous for its morning floating market selling produce and tourist trinkets. Hop on board a small canoe and row through the stalls, and practicing your bartering skills during this classic Thai experience. After the boat ride, you will have an hour to explore the market on your own before settling down for lunch.

Then, drive 2.5 hours north to Ayutthaya, a former capital of the Kingdom of Siam from 1350-1767, and once the largest city in the world due to its trading connections with other kingdoms such as China, India and Indonesia. Some of the most famous historical sites to see on your visit are the Buddha head entwined in a Bodhi Tree at Wat Phra Mahathat and Wat Chaiwatthanaram, and can be easily explored via tuk-tuk or by bicycle as the island is completely flat.

Depart Ayutthaya in the late afternoon and return to Bangkok for an evening free at leisure.

Day 4 : Say hello to Luang Prabang by an afternoon city tour

Savor morning breakfast before transferring to Bangkok Airport for a short 80-minute flight to Luang Prabang, the most beautiful city in Laos.

Upon arrival to Luang Prabang Airport, our representative will transfer you to your charming hotel for refreshment. Your afternoon visit of the city will include stops at Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Visoun, the Melon Stupa and Wat Aham before catching the sunset atop Mount Phousi. End at the daily night market where you can peruse all the local handicrafts on display.

Day 5 : Swim in the turquoise waters of Kuang Si Waterfalls

Drive 1-hour south through the dense forest to visit the magical Kuang Si Waterfalls. Swim in the glowing waters and take some time to visit the Kuang Si Bear Rescue Center. 

After a romantic picnic lunch, return to Luang Prabang and board a slow boat to lazily journey up the river to Pak Ou Caves, stopping along the way to visit the Lao Whisky Village to see the process of how villagers make the potent Lau Lao, a special type of whiskey made from rice. Continue on to Pak Ou where a thousand Buddha images are kept. After visiting the cave, return downstream to Luang Prabang as the sun begins to set.

Day 6 : Meet asian elephants in Mandalao Elephant Conservation – Luang Prabang

Understand why Laos is nicknamed “the land of a million elephants” today with a visit to the  Mandalao Elephant Conservation, a sanctuary for rescued elephants from abusive situations.

Throughout the day, get up close with the elephants as you feed, bathe, and play with them after a short training course from a Mahout. Enjoy a lunch at the camp before returning to your hotel in Luang Prabang, where the rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the city.

Day 7 : Partake in sunrise offering alms before an short flight to Siem Riep

Rise before the sun and take part in the iconic tradition of Luang Prabang, offering alms to a long line of monks in dusky saffron robes at Ban Vat Sean.Typical alms givings are usually of simple food such as rice or fruit so that the monks can have their one meal per day.

After the ceremony, return to the hotel to have your own breakfast before checking out. Stop by the Royal Palace, nowadays a museum, with a wonderful collection of crown jewels, antique cars, royal objects and weapons, artwork and more. Enjoy the well-tended gardens before transferring to the airport for a short flight to the kingdom of Wonder, Cambodia.

Upon arrival to Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat, our representative will transfer you to your beautiful, boutique hotel in the late afternoon. Home to many great restaurants, shopping opportunities, and spa treatments to indulge in, Siem Reap is the perfect town to wander around independently.

Day 8 : Have a sunrise champagne picnic breakfast at Angkor Wat

Meet Cambodia’s epic past with a tour of the Angkor Archaeological Park. One of the most important historical sites in the entire region of Southeast Asia, the City of Temples will surely amaze and astound even the most experienced traveller.

Built between the 9th-15th centuries, each complex was at one point the capital of the Khmer empire.  Your tour will begin with a sunrise champagne picnic breakfast at Angkor Wat, the masterpiece of Angkor Park, often considered one of the best preserved ancient monuments in the world. Carry on by bicycle to Angkor Thom, famous for its carved faces pointing out in either direction on top of massive 75 ft. (23 m) towers. Within is the mysterious Bayon Temple, the Mona Lisa of Southeast Asia, located at the exact center of Angkor Thom, with a total of 216 carved faces.

Stops will also include the Elephant Terrace, and the Leper Terrace before moving on to the popular Ta Prohm, recognizable from the film Tomb Raider.

Return to the magnificent Angkor Wat. In the afternoon sun, it seems as if the entire complex is sparkling. Depart from the park in the early afternoon or stay to see the beautiful sunset and return to your hotel in the early evening.

Day 9 : Enjoy the evening highlight - Phare Circus

Travel to the mysterious Beng Mealea Temple by jeep this morning and explore the ruins wrapped in the lush, green jungle. The “lost” temple is covered in Hindu and Buddhist motifs just as much as it has been reclaimed by the vines and shrubs of the forest.

Return to town to have lunch at your leisure around Pub Street before indulging in the ultimate spa experience at Sokkhak Spa – River Side. 

After freshening up at your hotel, enjoy the evening highlight, a ticket to the Cambodian Circus, Phare.  This Cambodian NGO association has been improving the lives of children, young adults, and their families with art schools, educational programs, and social support since 1994.   • Thailand, Cambodia and Laos are conservative countries so take care to pack loose, lightweight, long clothing which covers your shoulders and knees to be respectful to the culture and especially in religious areas. During the night the air can get chilly so don’t forget a sweater or light-weight jacket for the evenings and early mornings
  • Mundo Asia does not include elephant rides or unnatural performance activities on any itinerary, and we recommend you bypass these activities should they be offered to you during your stay
  • Consider adding a beach extension to the hidden beaches of Sihanoukville or Koh Rong Island on day 10.
